Abstract:  ABSTRACT: his paper proposes an optimal control strategy for domestic electric water heater (EWH) based on cloud model theory, focusing on residential users' huge consumption of electric energy on electric water heaters. The control strategy is established for reducing costs on residential users' EWH in which the real-time temperature in water tank and electricity price issued by power grid are regarded as the former of the cloud generator, and the real-time power value is regarded as the consequent of the cloud generator. At the same time, the peak load of residential users' EWH is transferred to other valley load time by regulating the parameters of EWH through cloud model controller.  Simulation results show that the method can effectively reduce power consumption in high-price time, so that stability of power grid is ensured, under the premise of meeting the needs of users' basic water temperature. Finally, this paper compares the optimization effect of different parameters in cloud model controller.
